Great Ocean Road

If you can get focused on the driving experience ahead of you on the Great Ocean Road, instead of the freeway driving you encounter from Melbourne to Geelong, you are in for one hell of an experience if you have not driven the road before. The road challenges you concentration with its sea vista's on one side of the road and tree canopy and sheer cliff face on the other, as its winds it way along the coast, when I say coast this road is right on top of the surf coast. Today L am travelling from Melbourne to Lorne, but firstly continuing on to lunch at a favourite spot the Wye River Hotel and the drive from Lorne to Wye River is exhilarating. If your lucky enough at times of the year Whales can be spotted as a bonus. Its amazing as coming to the hotel in winter compared to summer, where you would be lining up to get a table. Like a lot of hotels and restaurant on the coast the views and sounds while you eat are calming and picture perfect.
